News and Updates

- As has been reported elsewhere, the "Skookum" 2-4-4-2 was sold earlier this year to Chris Baldo of Willits, California.  The locomotive will be restored and portions have already been moved to Tillamook, Oregon for rebuilding.

- Phase 1 of US Plywood #11's restoration was finished earlier this year and on February 11, 2005 the locomotive was moved to its display location near Snoqualmie Parkway.  The Northwest Railway Museum's Conservation and Restoration Center is now under construction, and when it is complete it will allow for further rebuilding of #11.

- Additional photos from Martin Hansen have been added for Booth-Kelly #2, Booth-Kelly #6, Carlisle #7, Clemons #8, Crown Willamette #12, Weyerhaeuser #110 (Longview), Weyerhaeuser #112, Weyerhaeuser #4, Weyerhaeuser #120, and Weyerhaeuser #200.

- I am slowly updating the various side view drawings on this site, making them more accurate and including dimensional data.  Most revisions will be to change the color of the "as-built" drawings since most logging Mallets when new were painted Baldwin Olive Green with aluminum lettering and stripes, usually in Baldwin Style 220.
