-Hammond #4 was the first logging Mallet with a single rectangular side tank on each side. However, these were not of the same design as the tanks that later appeared on Bloedel Donovan 8 & 9, Clemons 6, and Ostrander 7.
-After being sold to Saginaw & Manistee, #4's tanks and fuel bunker were removed and a slope back tender was added. The slope back tender was later exchanged for a rectangular tender.
